PADI Snorkel Guide Program

EMEA_newsPADI developed the PADI Snorkel Guide program a few years back, for unique delivery in Egypt to best accommodate local regulations affecting the water sports and diving market. With recent developments in Egypt, and revisions within the PADI Divemaster program, we have reassessed the need for this program in the local market place.

All PADI Divemasters and instructors are already trained beyond that of snorkelling guide. Snorkel Guides, who are not already PADI Divemasters or instructors, are trained locally in Egypt, and also renew their Snorkel Guide status each year. In order to streamline our activities and ensure these are consistent throughout the world, we have made a decision to suspend the Snorkel Guide program, uniquely delivered in Egypt, from 2014.

Any existing and renewed PADI Snorkel Guides will retain their credential until the end of 2014. There remain hundreds of PADI professional members in Egypt at Divemaster or higher level who will be able to fulfil the role of snorkel guides into the future. The PADI Divemaster program remains an appropriate route for those looking for leadership and guide training, through PADI.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
